Poster Paints

Poster Paints are non-permanent paints that are water-soluble. This product category has three sub-classes: Tempera, Gouache, and Acrylic Gouache.
One distinct feature of poster paints is that they are opaque. Artists can paint over the surface without showing what is hidden underneath, which helps them cover and conceal their errors. Poster paints dry into a matte finish, which makes glare-free photography and scanning possible. \

Tempera

Finger Paint

Finger paints are very similar to Tempera but formulated for toddlers. They are bitter to taste, a clever idea to prevent toddlers from swallowing the paint. Both finger paint and Tempera are excellent for sensory play and messy art and craft projects.

Gouache

We call our poster paints with a higher pigment load Gouache. Gouaches have higher opacity and more brilliant colors. They can be reactivated by water, and color lifting on a finished painting is possible. However, these paints are not easily washable. Focus Vibracolor Gouache is suitable for serious painters.

Acrylic Gouache

Acrylic Gouache is a water-resistant gouache. It exhibits the same opacity and behavior as Gouache. Instead of using gum Arabic as a binder, it uses acrylic emulsion. Acrylic Gouache dries into a matte finish, is permanent, and is water-resistant.
